Registrations & TjingPay
Want to know more about TjingPay?
For more in-depth information about TjingPay, see Core concepts.
Overview
Tjing offers a variety of registration methods and an integrated payment solution, TjingPay. Traditional sign-ups with a waiting list and confirmed players are the standard, but you can also allow players to register directly into groups to play with friends for a weekly event, or use flex signup for more dynamic events.
If you charge for your event, TjingPay is mandatory. If the event is free to play, you can continue without enabling it. TjingPay collects and transfers registration fees directly to your account, and you can configure automatic refunds and partial event refunds.
Tjing also supports several registration restrictions that you can add to the registration flow, or you can create your own registration form that players must complete upon registering. You can restrict any combination of PDGA rating, club membership, nationality, age, gender and more, as well as have time-based stages.
Registration methods
You can control this on a per-event basis and change it at any time. Please note that if you make changes while registration is ongoing, you might need to make other adjustments, such as moving players in and out of groups.
List
Players register for the event and are placed either in the confirmed list or on the waiting list. You can have waiting lists for each division or one combined list for all divisions. If you want full control, you can manually manage the waiting list. If not, you can configure auto-fill, which will automatically confirm players and, when the event is full, promote players from the waiting list to the confirmed list as spots become available.
Group
Group signup is ideal for more casual events, such as weekly rounds, where you don’t want to manage groups yourself. With group signup, players register directly into groups, selecting who they want to play with and which hole to start on. Players are automatically confirmed, and there is no waiting list when this method is used.
You can use this with tee-time or shotgun starts, but once the round has started, players can no longer sign up. Since players can move groups before the round starts, you have the option to lock down the groups and make final adjustments if needed.
Flex
Flex signup is very similar to group signup, but players can continue registering while the round is ongoing. You can set a minimum group size for the round to start, and the system manages itself. You just need to start the round and close it when done; players handle the rest.
You still have full control to add players or start a group manually if required.
Invitations
Tjing does not support manually adding players to events; we believe registration should always be the player’s choice.
However, if you need to allow a player to bypass the normal registration flow, you can send invitation links. These invitations can be generated from the Players page under Utilities. Players simply open the invitation link or scan the QR code with the Tjing app, select their division and optionally a group, and they are registered for the event immediately.
